Privacy Policy

Lonebird · ShickShack · Last updated 29 July 2026

You can play the entire game without an account and without giving us anything that identifies you. If you choose to sign in, we store your Google account identifier, your display name and your scores so the leaderboard and cloud save can work. We do not sell your data.

Lonebird is a game made by ShickShack. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, and how to get rid of it. It covers the Android app published as io.shickshack.lonebird and nothing else.

What we collect

DataWhenWhy
Google account ID, display name, profile photo URL Only if you sign in To show you on the leaderboard and to tie your cloud save to you
Game progress — best score, flock size, birds unlocked, streak, feathers Only if you sign in Cloud save, so progress survives a new phone
Gameplay events — runs started and ended, score, run length, birds bought, screens opened Always, anonymously To understand which parts of the game work and which are too hard
App-instance ID, device model, OS version, country, crash reports Always, anonymously Collected automatically by Firebase Analytics to group the above
Advertising ID, device type, approximate location from IP Always, once ads are enabled Selecting and measuring ads — shared with Google AdMob
Play Games achievements and player ID Only if you use Play Games Handled by Google, not stored by us

We never collect your email address, contacts, photos, location, or any file on your device. The app requests no runtime permissions.

Playing without an account

Signing in is entirely optional. If you do not, your progress is stored only on your device, the leaderboard shows local scores, and nothing personally identifying leaves the phone. Anonymous gameplay analytics is still collected — it is not linked to any account, and you can stop it by uninstalling.

Who else sees it

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics) and Google Play Games Services. Google processes this data on our behalf as our service provider, under Firebase's privacy terms. Data is stored on Google Cloud servers in India (asia-south1).

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with data brokers. We do share advertising data with Google AdMob, as described under Advertising below — that is what pays for the game. The only data another player can see is what you deliberately put on the public leaderboard: your display name and your score.

Advertising

Lonebird shows ads, served by Google AdMob. Almost all of them are optional:

There are no banner ads and no ads during play.

To choose and measure ads, AdMob reads your device's advertising ID, along with general information such as device type, country and rough location derived from your IP address. That data is shared with Google as our advertising partner and is handled under Google's privacy policy.

You control that ID. Android Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you reset it, or delete it entirely so apps can no longer use it to personalise advertising.

How long we keep it

Deleting your data

Email connect@shickshack.io from the address you signed in with, asking for deletion. We will erase your leaderboard entry and cloud save within 30 days. You do not have to give a reason. The full deletion instructions spell out exactly what goes and what stays.

Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on the device, but does not by itself delete a cloud save or a leaderboard entry — send the email for that.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Use the email above for any of these; we do not charge for it and we do not require an account to make a request.

Children

Lonebird is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Signing in requires a Google account, which has its own age requirements. If you believe a child has signed in and you want that data removed, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or why, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, say so in the app's release notes. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
