Terms of Service
These terms cover the Lonebird game for Android, published by ShickShack as
io.shickshack.lonebird. Installing or playing it means you accept
them. If you do not, please uninstall the app.
What you get
Lonebird is free to play. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play it on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. We keep ownership of the game itself — its code, artwork, music, and name.
Lives
You get five lives. Each run costs one, and one life comes back every 15 minutes. Nothing in the game can be bought with real money. You may optionally watch an advert to refill lives sooner, to carry on after a run ends, or to double the feathers a run earned — declining costs you nothing, and lives still refill on their own either way.
Advertising
The game is paid for by ads served through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are always your choice, and there is one occasional full-screen ad when you leave a run for the menu. There are no banners and nothing interrupts a run. What data advertising involves is set out in the Privacy Policy.
In-game items
Feathers, birds, streaks and achievements have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts. They are features of the game, not property. We may adjust prices, rewards and difficulty as the game is tuned.
Fair play
Please do not:
- modify, reverse-engineer or repackage the app, except where the law says you may;
- use cheats, bots, or modified clients to put scores on the leaderboard;
- choose a display name that is abusive, hateful, obscene, or impersonates someone else;
- try to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the game's servers.
We may remove leaderboard entries, or block an account from the leaderboard, where we reasonably believe one of these has happened. You keep playing offline either way — we cannot and will not stop the game working on your device.
Your account and data
Signing in with Google is optional and only enables the leaderboard and cloud save. What we collect and how to delete it is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Availability
The online parts — leaderboard, cloud save, achievements — depend on services we do not control and may be unavailable at times. We may change or retire them. The game is designed to remain fully playable offline if that happens, and we will not take away progress already saved on your device.
No warranty
Lonebird is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShickShack is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the game, or for lost scores, progress or in-game items. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms as the game changes. The date at the top always shows the current version, and continuing to play after a change means you accept it. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will note it in the app's release notes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction — except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live, which it may.
